Honoris United Universities recognized by the World Economic Forum

When Honoris United Universities convened the collective expertise of its first member institutions back in 2017, our mission to educate for impact was in response to the complex challenges that the Fourth Industrial Revolution is accelerating. Now, as the first and largest network of higher education institutions in Africa, with over 61,000 students across 32 cities, we are reaffirming our mission by developing disruptive, tailor-made academic models designed to address these global challenges.

In our fifth year of growth and the release of our inaugural Impact Report, bolstered by our first Impact Score from our sponsor Actis, we are honored to receive recognition of our achievements from the foremost international organization dedicated to improving the state of the world – the World Economic Forum and its New Champions Community.

New Champions are dynamic high-growth companies that are championing new business models, emerging technologies, and sustainable growth strategies in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, whilst remaining mindful of their impact on society to build a better future. We are honored to be among these changemakers.

As one of only 8 African companies out of 115 New Champions globally, we value our acceptance into this community and understand our responsibility to contribute, learn and engage with our peers to harness the opportunities at hand. We will bring our expertise in developing world-class African human talent capable of leapfrogging challenges and bringing transformation and development to their communities.

By building a pan-African social infrastructure that educates tomorrow’s workforce and the fastest growing demographic in the world, we will support and unite with fellow New Champions across a range of industries who are equally trailblazing solutions to the world’s most urgent needs.

From our experience working with employers, multinationals, higher education institutions, EdTech providers, innovators, entrepreneurs and a series of other partners, we believe in the power of collaboration towards a shared mission. As we move towards our target of transforming 1.5 million lives by 2027, we do so with a new sense of momentum on our new journey with the World Economic Forum.
