Nile Spartans Earn Wings To Egypt After Winning National Championship

August 13 2022 – The basket team of Nile University of Nigeria, Nile Spartans, will travel to Egypt to compete in the World finals of the Red Bull-sponsored Half-Court Basketball Tournament in 2022.

The title sponsor, Red Bull, made this announcement after the Nile Spartans won the national finals of the Red Bull Half-Court tournament on Saturday, August 13 at the Upbeat Center in Lekki, Lagos State.

After finishing first in their group of eight teams, Nile Spartans delivered on their promise to win the championship. En route to the title win, the Nile Spartans defeated the Thundering Herds of Ibadan, Wolves of Lagos, and White Fire (also from Lagos), in a keenly contested competition.

On September 30 and October 1, 2022, the Nile Spartans will join other national champions from Greece, Turkey, India, Australia, and 20 other countries around the world, in Egypt to compete for the World title.
