MANCOSA female student receives recognition at the first annual Built Environment Recognition Awards
5 January 2024 – MANCOSA student and landscape technologist, Nobuhle Simelane, recently received an award at the Built Environment Recognition Awards whilst encouraging women to break barriers in the male-dominated construction industry.
Simelane, from Pretoria was among the youngest award recipients under the South African Council for the Landscape Architectural Profession (SACLAP) acknowledged for her dedication.
“Receiving an award as one of the youngest females in South Africa in our industry is still so surreal to me and gives me so much honor and pride that finally my hard work paid off,” said Simelane.
Currently studying the post-graduate Diploma in Project Management with MANCOSA, she registered as a candidate Landscape Technologist in January 2019 enabling her to gain landscape technologist valuable work experience as a Professional Landscape Technologist whilst continuing her studies.
Over 200 guests representing various Built Environment Professionals from public and private entities attended the awards.
