Honoris United Universities Achieves International Recognition for Medical Research

January 23rd, 2023 – Honoris was delighted that Professor Chadli Dziri MD, FACS, Professor Emeritus of General Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine of Tunis – Tunis El Manar University, Director of the Honoris Medical Simulation Center, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and Member of the Editorial Board of the American Journal of Surgery, attended the world’s largest conference dedicated to innovation in the field of medical simulation, the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH) in Orlando, Florida.

Professor Dziri presented the results of a randomized controlled trial in medical simulation undertaken at our world-class Honoris Medical Simulation Center. Involving more than 170 second-year Honoris health school nursing students, the trial took an important look at medical pedagogy, comparing two training techniques for peripheral venous line placement. The Honoris Medical Simulation Center is fully accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) – one of the first to achieve such recognition in Africa.

Speaking about the trial’s selection by the IMSH, Professor Dziri commented, “Our presence at this year’s IMSH was a fantastic opportunity to share our best practice and findings from the use of our technology and innovative methods, continually testing and learning to improve both learner and patient outcomes. I am glad that the Honoris Medical Simulation Center is seen as a reference point for global medical simulation as we continue to provide unique access to a depth and breadth of cutting-edge simulation services that have not been available before on a pan-regional level.”

Each year, IMSH provides the tools and resources healthcare professionals need to advance their skills, impact change in delivery systems and practice, and, ultimately, improve patient safety. With over 4,000 attendees in 2022, the event welcomes attendees from all over the world including researchers, teachers, doctors, and innovators for networking, hands-on workshops, plenary speakers, 300 education sessions, and an exhibit hall for the latest products and services in the sector.
