Honoris Holds Learning Expedition to Harvard’s Africa Business Conference 2025
15 February 2025 – For the third consecutive year, Honoris completed a Learning Expedition for students to the Africa Business Conference on campus at Harvard Business School in February.
During the two-day event, the winning team of the Honoris Impact Competition from ESPRIT Tunisia had the opportunity to engage in discussions and network with leaders from across various industries in Africa, all focused on driving meaningful change and transformation of the continent. The 5-person student team was crowned joint winners, alongside Tunisia’s Universite Centrale, for their AI-powered solution that breaks down language barriers, fostering greater inclusivity and accessibility. Whilst interacting with faculty and visiting lecturers, including the CTO of EdTech success DuoLingo, the Honoris students were also invited to join live classes with first-year MBA students, experiencing the impactful case method as part of the core curriculum firsthand.
This year’s theme, Beyond Borders: A Myth or Mandate for Africa’s Progress, explored the rapidly changing environment for Africa’s future prosperity amidst the crucial need for cross-border collaboration and regional integration. With Collaborative Intelligence as part of Honoris core values across it’s pan African network of16 higher education institutions, we were proud to have represented the potential and success of students using new technologies to solve local challenges.
The students said, “The Honoris Learning Expedition was an incredibly valuable experience that opened our eyes to the vast opportunities for regional expansion and cross-border collaboration as we build our startup. Engaging with other entrepreneurs, industry leaders and experiencing Harvard’s case method firsthand gave us the tools and inspiration to drive meaningful impact across Africa through exciting new technologies.”
The Harvard Africa Business Conference remains the largest student-run African conference globally, organized annually by the Harvard Business School (HBS) Africa Business Club and now celebrating its 27th year.
