Government Minister Fassi Fihri attends the EAC’s first graduation ceremony in Casablanca.

The Minister of National Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and Urban Policy joins EAC graduates as they receive State-recognized diplomas.

Casablanca – May 3rd, 2019

The Casablanca School of Architecture (EAC), a member of Honoris United Universities, has issued its first state-recognized degree to graduates at a ceremony held on Friday, May 3 2019, in the presence of the Minister for National Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and Urban Policy, Mr. Abdelahad Fassi Fihri.

EAC is the first ever-private architecture school in Morocco to be authorized to issue degrees recognized by the State, allowing graduates to register with the National Order of Architects and practice as a legally qualified architect in the country.

During his opening remarks, the Managing Director of the EAC, Abdelmoumen Benabdeljalil said: “A graduation ceremony is inherently touching but this one is particularly so because it is the school’s first graduation. Our commitment to excellence means that our graduates are now ready to compete in a competitive global jobs market.”

The Minister of National Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and Urban Policy, Mr.Fassi Fihri expressed his delight to be amongst the graduates at the ceremony: “Today, the school can look forward with confidence to a future where it contributes to the development of a high quality training ecosystem within the architecture sector.”

The previous Minister of Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and Urban Policy, Mr.Mohamed Nabil Benabdallah commented that: “Casablanca needed a fully recognized school that can play an important role in the future of architecture and planning in the country. Everybody here recognizes EAC’s training as excellent.”

Azzedine Nekmouch, President of the National Association of Architects in Morocco congratulated the EAC graduates in their success: “Many of our young people like the EAC graduates, have won internationally recognised awards which is good for Morocco. Our country needs young people to continue to represent it positively and to carry our flag high”.

By joining Honoris United Universities in October 2018, EAC was integrated in the first pan-African private higher education network in Morocco, including EMSI and Université Mundiapolis.
