EMSI’s SMARTiLab Wins Gold at iCAN 2023 in Toronto, Canada

1 September 2023 – Morocco’s Ecole Marocaine des Sciences de l’ingénieur (EMSI) further celebrated its student innovators as it claimed two gold medals and two prestigious awards at the iCAN 2023 International Innovation Exhibition held in Toronto, Canada.

SMARTiLAB is EMSI’s Innovation Center and is accredited as a FabLab by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), standing as an exemplary 21st-century learning environment among the Honoris United Universities network and continues to build support and recognition of its students through dedicated extracurricular innovation clubs.

In July this year, EMSI’s Rabat campus held the 5th edition of the highly anticipated innovation competition “ENOV23” organized by the SMARTiLab Research and Development laboratory.

SMARTilab has 12 national and international patents and 21 honors at the national and international level. The center previously won Canada’s famous international award for technological innovation at iCAN in 2017, and the gold medal at Russia’s International Fair for Inventions and Technological Innovations (Archimedes), and was a finalist at the World Cup of IOT Innovation.
