Honoris Contributes to Critical Topics at IFC’s 9th Education Summit
7 March 2024 – At the IFC’s 9th Global Education Conference in Mexico City, Honoris joined engaging panel discussions to shed light on how it responds to critical themes in higher education, meeting with delegates from across the globe in EdTech, top universities, the finance sector, and government, for a dynamic exchange on the future of higher education.
Speaking on the topic of “Future-Proofing Higher Education: Embedding Skills and Employability in University DNA”, Honoris Chief Growth and Strategy Officer, Laura Kakon, put forward examples of strategies for success in employability outcomes. Laura made clear that nurturing industry partnerships, harnessing technology for skills acquisition, driving innovation and entrepreneurship, and focusing on human-centricity were mutually critical priorities for any higher education institution today.
On the topic of “Gender in Education: Rethinking STEM for Equitable Employment Outcomes,” Honoris emphasized the critical steps toward gender equity in employment. This involved raising awareness of challenges through expert workshops and advocacy campaigns, highlighting role models, briefing career advisors on addressing gender issues, and facilitating employer sessions on campus for advice on salary negotiation and networking. Throughout March, Honoris continues to celebrate Women’s Month with examples of this success across its pan-African network.
