Actis International Scholarships Winners

Three students from across the Honoris United Universities, the first private pan-African higher education network, have been awarded the Actis International Scholarship. Viraksha Chetty, MBA graduate from Regent Business School, South Africa has won the opportunity of a lifetime to join the Women Transforming Leadership programme at the prestigious University of Oxford whilst Akram Maaroufi, graduate of Engineering in Petrochemical Chemistry and recent graduate, Chourouk Haouel, Université Centrale Tunisia have won a scholarship to study the Master in Energy Management programme at ESCP Europe, London Campus.

Since its creation, Université Centrale of Tunis has initiated a quality process acknowledged by many national and international instances. Affiliated to the Honoris United Universities network, the University has just been selected today to join the network of the AACSB -The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. This affiliation is the first step into a process of accreditations.

EMSI awards 2 Silver Medals to Morocco at BIXPO 2017

Ultimate achievement at international scale for Morocco this week. BIXPO 2017 (The Bitgaram International Exposition of Electric Power Technology) held from 1-3 Novembre 2017 in Gwangju, South Korea, was a wonderful opportunity for Morocco to be awarded two silver medals through EMSI – Science Engineering School of Morocco.

The MANCOSA literacy project: Helping Address South Africa’s Shocking Literacy Levels

“Do you know that reading statistics show
that only 14% of South Africans’ are
readers of books?”

This was the opening statement made by South Africa’s Honourable Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshekga, in an interview conducted during National Book week in 2016. The Department of Basic Education launched the “read to lead” campaign in 2015, after shocking statistics by the National Education and Evaluation Development Unit revealed that 58% of Grade 4 learners could not read for meaning, while 29% were completely illiterate. South Africa is a country that has 11 official languages, and only 9.6% of the population is fluent in English.
