Mancosa founder, Prof. Yusuf Karodia, Emerges African person of the year

Honoris United Universities is proud to congratulate Professor Karodia – Founder of MANCOSA and Regent Business School in South Africa and Founding Partner of Honoris United Universities – for winning the annual African Leadership Magazine Persons of the year award in the Educational Development category.

The African Leadership Magazine Persons of the Year Awards committee has unveiled renowned educationist and founder of the Regent Business School and MANCOSA, Prof. Yusuf Karodia as the African Leadership Person of the Year-Education Development. Prof. Karodia who is the founder of one of Africa’s premier business school, Regent and MANCOSA, emerged winner in the just concluded polls for the African Leadership Magazine Persons of the Year Awards 2019, with over 40% of the total votes/submissions for this category. Prof. Karodia is also a co-founder of the Honoris United Universities, leading Pan-African Network of High Education – providing quality education for the continent.

The African Leadership Magazine Persons of the Year, which is in its 8th year, is an annual award reserved for distinguished and celebrate Africans, who are considered to have blazed the trail in the year under review. A shortlist of nominees are selected from results gathered via a Call for nominations, traditionally promoted via paid online and offline campaigns across the continent, Europe, and the Americas. The call for nomination is the first step in a multi-phased process, which is then followed by the voting process and the eventual announcements of winners.

Dynamic and inspirational, and the epitome of an entrepreneur, Professor Karodia is an academic who dared to dream and whose vision has been realized through the establishment of the first private distance learning educational institutions in South Africa in the mid-1990s.
Known for his hands down management style and friendly disposition, Karodia has forged numerous links with educational institutions around the world. The Group’s flagship MBA programmes are possibly among the most sought after postgraduate management programmes in the SADC region.
With the emergence of the Management College of Southern Africa (MANCOSA) and the Regent Business School, thousands of disadvantaged individuals have been empowered through access to affordable quality higher education.

He is also a founding partner of Honoris United Universities, anchoring the platform in South Africa, an important Anglophone beacon market in the continent.
