Chief Executive Officer
Luis has a 25-year multinational, high-growth experience in general management and business development in healthcare, banking, insurance & retirement services and post-secondary education. He has a strong Latin America coverage with emphasis on Mexico, Brazil, Central America, Chile and Argentina, as well as enterprise-level leadership in Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Before joining Honoris United Universities as the Chief Executive Officer, Luis launched Jaboticaba Ventures, a start-up agri-business in the US state of Florida. Prior to this entrepreneurial experience, he made significant contributions in building the Laureate International Universities network during 13 years across the globe. He led the Mexican, the Brazilian and the Central American operations and was the Chief Executive Officer of Europe, Middle East, Asia & Africa (EMEAA). Luis has a deep understanding of post-secondary education, especially in growth markets, and captures the aspiration of the students and their families for a better education to transform their lives.
Luis started his career at Aetna as a project manager in health informatics. He holds a Bachelor degree from Brown University and an MBA from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
Chief Marketing Officer
Laura joined Honoris United Universities as Chief Marketing Officer after almost 5 years as Vice President of Marketing & Sales at Laureate International Universities. While at Laureate, she successfully participated in the launch of Université Internationale de Casablanca, the first country-level greenfield for Laureate.
Prior to this, Laura spent 11 years working for a number of international brands within the L’Oréal Group, such as Lancôme, La Roche-Posay, Vichy and Helena Rubinstein. She held several global marketing management positions, with continental & regional responsibilities, including for Europe, Asia, the United States and Latin America. She held operational responsibilities on the French and American markets.
Her particular strengths are a true passion for challenges and an ability to develop brands with a constant view towards innovation and value creation.
Laura is a member of the board of the Moroccan charity Sourire de Reda, which alleviates youth suffering and suicide prevention.
Laura is a graduate of the ESCP Europe, with a major in finance. She holds an International Marketing Certificate from the Recanati School of Business at the University of Tel-Aviv as well as a degree in Applied Mathematics and Social Sciences from the University of Paris Dauphine in France.
Chief Financial Officer
Oussama is Chief Financial Officer of Honoris United Universities. He joined the network in June 2015 after spending 8 years as Chief Financial Officer of the Altea Packaging Group. Altea Packaging Group is a leader in the packaging Industry in the MENA region.
During those years, Oussama actively participated in the group’s mergers & acquisitions operations, leading, in particular, to the purchase of the Egyptian leader in the sector. He was also responsible for taking the Altea Group into Algeria as well as initiating the financing of the group’s expansion.
Prior to joining Altea, Oussama was a manager for PwC. He directed many audit and legal assignments for large local and international organisations, operating in different sectors including insurance, hospitality, telecommunications and industry.
He also participated in a number of important due diligence studies within the mergers and acquisitions operations, particularly for the privatisation of a public bank and the Tunisian Government’s public offer for the construction and exploitation of the country’s biggest airport.
Oussama holds a diploma in Public Accountancy and a Master’s in financial management from the Tunisian Institute of Higher Commercial Studies in Carthage, Tunis.
VP Executive and Enterprise Education
Walid joined Honoris United Universities as Vice President Enterprise Group in charge of building the executive and enterprise education arm for the network coming from the consulting business working with different organizations ranging from telecom operator to global NGO’s helping them restructure their marketing organization, launch and reposition products and solutions or targeting new markets. Prior to that walid was a cloud computing director for Microsoft covering 10 countries in the middle east and north Africa. Walid holds a bachelor degree in international business from university of Tunis and a master’s degree of marketing and advertising research from Marshall University in West Virginia.
